From September 1st to 28th, the Mama on Palette Community Space is transforming into a vibrant hub of creativity and inspiration. The “Reborn: Motherhood” exhibition is set to showcase the works of 16 amazing mother artists, each offering a unique perspective on the wild ride that is parenthood. But wait, there’s more! Events to Catch during Singapore Gallery Month 2024 (The Artling)
In a partnership with UNIQLO, Singapore Gallery Month will be teaming up with non-profit organizations, Mama on Palette to broaden its offerings to families, and emerging artists.
Mama on Palette is Singapore's first community dedicated to mothers who are passionate about the arts, and will be co-conducting workshops including kintsugi, jewelry-making, and face, hand, and finger painting.

One of the exciting offerings at Staytion Lifestyle is Mama on Palette, a community initiative involving around 1,000 mothers and members who share their experiences in art and motherhood, while raising awareness and support for mothers’ mental wellbeing. When Ms Alice Yu Yuebo started a parenting and arts-related blog called Mama on Palette in April 2018, she never imagined it would grow into a 300-strong community of artistically inclined mothers doing good.
Ms Yu, 32, suffered from prenatal blues before she gave birth to her only child in October 2017. It was her love of drawing and painting that helped pull her out of the depressive episodes.

Mama on Palette, Singapore’s first community for mother artists, eagerly announces the launch of its landmark art book, “Singapore in the Eyes of Mother Artists,” on 12 May 2024 at South Beach Tower. Also referred to as SITE.MA, the book presents a rich tapestry of experiences from 28 talented mother artists, explored through nine themes: Mind, Home, Food, Romance, Work, Friends, Places and Movements, Nature, and Future.

Her personal revival through art sparked an idea: could other mothers benefit from this too? Alice started sharing her journey online, quickly resonating with other mothers who saw art as a vital outlet for their mental wellness.

As a young mother, art helped Ms Yu out of postnatal depression. She founded Mama on Palette to encourage mothers to embrace the positive impact of art on parenting. Ms Yu is the recipient of the global Women in Marketing Award (2019), Singapore and SG 100 Women in Tech Award (2023).

Mama on Palette, which has a network of about 1,000 mothers, will focus on mental health support for mothers through art, said founder Alice Yu.
